Great job "in Tahoe" this weekend!

Well, we had a great Tahoe simulation ride this weekend! Everyone who came and rode with the Herd did very well up those switchbacks, through Truckee's infamous headwinds, and up to the top of Spooner!

This upcoming weekend we hope to take our training outdoors for a 30 mile "essentially" flat ride...that is if Mother Nature is kind to us. Cross your fingers! I will post the information on Wednesday as to what we plan to do. If we do end up indoors again due to weather conditions being poor, Julie Gauer will lead you for a 2 hour spin at our usual time and location. Things can change day to day, so please make sure you check the website before heading out to our group ride, wherever it may be scheduled. Any cancellations or changes will be posted on the website by 8 a.m. No changes means things are as is, and on.

This past week teammate Sarah Mallon started us off with her Mission Moment. Sarah rides in memory of her Grandfather Harold.
Sarah said, "My grandfather was an amazing man, and he is who I am riding for. He was a Veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a sailor in Lake Ontario, where he and my Grandmother had a cottage. He knew his sail boat well, and entered many races. He was also an inventor; he created stick on sunglasses. They were a dark film that you could stick on with static cling to your glasses and cut to fit perfectly. He was a fantastic card player too and taught me to play one hell of a game of hearts - although he never quite made bridge attainable. He was a dog lover; always seeming like a meat and potatoes man, he was such a softy for his golden retrievers. He teased me during my entire vegetarian phase. He told stories over, and over, and over again to the point where we would raise our hands once he started to let him know that it was a repeat. We had to hide veggies in this stubborn man's meals like we were hiding pills for a dog in a bit of cheese. I lost my Grandfather in August 2009 to stomach cancer. I'm riding with TNT to bring us closer to a cure for Leukemia & Lymphoma which will bring us closer to a cure for other cancers." -Sarah Mallon

I hope you all have a wonderful week! And, to Coach Peter, we all wish you the best of luck on Tuesday with your surgery! We will be thinking of you.

GO TEAM!
