Well Done!

Even though we had a small group at our training ride yesterday, our enthusiasm was grand! We continued working on building our base with another endurance ride. You should continue working in this zone (65-80% MHR) for the rest of the upcoming week. Next Saturday, March 9, we will be transitioning into the build phase of training where we will increase intensity up to 85% MHR. Julie Gauer will be leading this ride, which will be 1 hour and 30 minutes long.

This week, Donna Dixon, aka "Powerhouse," started our ride off with her Mission Moment. Donna rides in honor and in memory of several friends and family. One of her best friends, Michele, is a survivor of Hodgkin lymphoma, and a joyous evening out with her this past week reminded PH that our loved ones who are diagnosed today have treatment options that didn't exist 40, 20, or even 10 years ago. We dedicated our ride on Saturday to “more chances,” with gratitude and hope for Michele and for Bill P., and we rode in memory of Donna's dad, Jim.

Again, super job this week! Make sure you get your rides in during the week, some strength and core work in, and make sure you keep sending those fundraising letters and emails out!
