WELCOME to the 2011 cycling season with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program! We can't THANK YOU enough for signing up and taking on this noble mission of raising funds to find a cure for blood cancers.
A Century Ride, especially if it is your first, might seem intimidating, but have no worries, you CAN do it! You will be coached by Len Putnick and Melissa Stankovich, as well as Julie Gauer and mentored by Andrea, Amy, Donna, Garry, Peter, Dave, Laura, Aaron and Brian. We are all here to guide you along the way. Check out who we are in the Coaches and Mentor tabs of this website.
Your mentors should be in touch with you soon, if not already. I suggest you take advantage of their knowledge...they have all fundraised and trained for this before, so don't be shy, ask as many questions as you need to along the way. That's what they are there for.
This Saturday, 1/29, is the official TNT Kickoff. It will be at the Saratoga State Park and starts at 9 am. There is an information meeting beforehand at 8 am if you want to get there early. You can, if you wish, walk or run with the other teams at the kickoff. The cyclists will be getting together for brunch after the kickoff for anyone who want to join us.
Our first training session will be at GOLDs Gym in Latham on Saturday, Feb. 5 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. There will be a short meeting beforehand to go over the riding schedule and discuss any questions you may have. Details on what to bring to our first team training session will come to you on Wednesday, or you can always check our website for details. Julie Gauer, Melissa Stankovich or Tri-coach Kristen Hislop will be leading our Saturday indoor sessions while the weather is too cold for outdoor riding. We will probably be inside until mid-March.
Remember, this website is always updated by Wednesday, so you can always get the information you need. Become a follower and you will automatically get emails to let you know when new content has been added.
Thanks again for signing up and to help the quality of LLS patients and their families lives! With every pedal stroke we are one step closer to a cure!
I hope to see you all Saturday at the kickoff. Please let your coaches/mentors know if you plan on attending. If you have any questions, feel free to contact your coaches/mentors anytime!
GO TEAM!
